WhaT IS ABEND BROT?
Swissbake‘s Abend Brot (Evening Bread) was developed with the support of Dr. Detlef Pape, that fits perfectly into the 'Slim while you sleep’ principle and can be included in a weight-conscious diet. Thanks to our ingenious recipe, we attained approximately 28% protein; where it has a higher protein content than a steak (21%} and 4-5 times more protein than traditional wheat/rye mix bread. Also, the Abend Brot contains only approximately 8% carbohydrates, 5-6 times less than the carbohydrate content of traditional wheat/rye mix bread. Therefore the bread is a perfect fit for the dieting plan of “Slim while you sleep” and can be also included in most low carb diets.
SLIM WHILE YOU SLEEP
The insulin-separation diet concept of Dr. Detlef Pape can be summarised by the words “Slim while you sleep”. The basic idea is to use your biological clock to lose weight while eating three good meals a day.
The principle is easy:
Carbohydrate Breakfast
A nutritious carbohydrate breakfast boosts your energy for the day. 2 bread rolls and a croissant or 3-4 slices of normal bread with nut spread, jam or honey are important and sustained energy for the day. Animal protein is best avoided in the morning.
Mixed Diet Lunch
A balanced, wholesome mixed diet for lunch, because mid-day the body can cope with high-insulin levels. Fish, meat, poultry with carbohydrate side dishes, for example 6 small potatoes, 125g of rice or noodles. Raw fruits and vegetables are not a problem for the 'Slim while you sleep’ eating plan. Feel free to indulge yourself with a slice of cake or other desserts.
Protein Dinner
Fat loss starts in the evening which means that carbohydrates should be avoided at dinner time. This reduces the insulin secretion that blocks the fat cells at night. Burning fat in your sleep is possible, because even at night the body uses up energy to maintain the body temperature (of 36 - 37 degree celsius).
